I flew my 19 lb. Cavalier from Northern CA to San Jose Del Cabo on Alaska last week. It was his first flight and he did GREAT! He was very comfortable in this high quality carrier. I bought it when he was a month old. He is 3 yrs now and loves this carrier. BIG FAN! My daughter bought one too!
Very good quliaty. Fabric, sewing and finishing trims are well made. One suggestion is that if you can make the backpack in horizontal direction, bigger dogs can be sitted more comforable inside. My dog is Havanese and 19lb. His head is out of the backpack while he is sitting and too much space above his head.
Bought this. In small size for my 4.5lb yorkie. It worked perfectly for him on recent Horizon Air flight. Super sturdy and spacious.
I really like the velcro that hooks the case the suitcase handle. Feels very well made and will last a long time.

We purchased the large and our dog had more than enough room to move around. Fit well under the seat on Frontier Airlines.
As a puppy trainer, I work with young dogs or all sizes, some of whom haven't been fully vaccinated yet. This backpack allows me to take them out safely for socialization training without having to worry about them picking up a disease from the ground. I've carried pups from 5lbs to 25lbs, and it's been comfortable to wear every time!
We purchased a Roverlund backpack for our 3.5lb chihuahua, Tito, who often travels on flights with us. The backpack design offered PLENTY of room for her to move around and look out, whether in the vertical position looking out the mesh 'windows' or lying horizontally on the floorboard of the plane for a quick nap.
There are compartments to carry her collapsible water bowl, a peewee pad, some chew bones, a small bag of food, and wet wipes. The pack also comes with a clip-on holder for **** bags! It's like a Swiss-Army knife for pet travel.
We were blown away when Roverlund replaced our 1st backpack, no questions asked, due to a faulty manufacturing glitch. The 2nd pack is perfect and we've broken it in by traveling the East Coast! I cannot believe the quality of this carrier. It is so well made and the design works great for my dogs. It is great for traveling. I love that it is airline complaint. Now, we need to pick a destination to travel to with our dogs.
I purchased this carrier to bring my 24lb mini goldendoodle from Boston to Orlando to visit family. This was my first time traveling with my pup and I was very anxious. After scouring the internet getting lost in Reddit threads and reading more reviews than I can even count I decided to go with this carrier. What a good choice I made! Not only did my pup fit, I loved that it had a tether on the inside to attach to his harness, the shoulder strap can be used as a leash for potty breaks, it was a breeze to go through TSA, and it fit perfectly under the seat in front of me on the airplane. We flew JetBlue extra legroom and Breeze Nice seats. Honestly the only improvement I would suggest is a way for the pups to pop their heads out without being able to open the whole top.
We took our senior dog on her first airplane and this carrier was perfect. We had it out for a few weeks before the trip and she was already used to curling up inside, so on the trip she felt safe and comfortable. The leash that comes with it was far too thick and heavy (would be nice to have an option for a smaller one) so we didn't use that but even now that we are home, she loves to get in the carrier and nap.
Very sturdy, good looking carrier. Fit right under the seat on United which as far as I can tell has one of the tougher policies. My beagle girlie fit right in. Until she earns the right to be a working dog, she’s able to travel and it was so great to be able to bring her along. My one wish would be for a tougher zipper. She bit it and caused a misalignment of the teeth in one spot. Didn’t make a difference and that’s my only issue. Loved it and even got compliments from one or two other dog folks.
First the good: thick fabric, sturdy straps, and very comfortable to carry. I wish though that there was a way to leave one end of the top unzipped for the pup to stick his/her head out of. The way the zipper is situated, it can't be done so the flap has to be either completely closed or completely open. I ended up attaching short leashes to the side D-rings and leaving the flap open for our (pre-vaccinated) walks.
With or without pup in tow. It will be used constantly.
We have a rambunctious frenchie who really beat up his last carrier so we needed something bigger and more rugged. He is 23 lbs and fits perfect. He's able to lay comfortably and it fits the United requirements.
We are going to bring our dog to Europe this summer. I was looking for durable, quality bag. I really like the bag. The only thing I would love to have an extended zipper pocket for more room to the dog. But the quality is excellent so we are happy with our purchase.
This is the most i’ve ever spent on a pet carrier but i wanted to finally invest in something for life. You can see and feel the quality, and the fact it’s travel approved is great. It collapses easily, the straps are comfortable and it’s very sturdy and spacious when open. I actually am using it for my cats. They are 9-13 pounds and fit comfortably in one. If they got along i could def see them fitting in the largest size together though. love these carriers, 10/10
