Two Ways to Navigate: Once your pet carrier is secured to the wheel base, you can pull your pet in 2 ways:
- 1) Keep the shoulder strap connected at both ends of the pet carrier. Grasp the center of the shoulder strap and navigate your pet carrier wheel base by continuing to hold the middle of the shoulder strap as you walk. This style mimics how you would walk with a roller suitcase at your side.
- 2) Simply latch the shoulder strap clip to the front D-ring and you're all set to pull your pup around.
- Smooth Glide: Equipped with eye-catching neon skateboard wheels, ensuring a smooth and quiet ride for your pet.

Here are our tips to select the right size Roverlund pet carrier!
WEIGH YOUR PUP
You can use your pup's estimated weight as a guide to select the best pet carrier size.
The Out-of-Office Pet Carrier comes in two sizes:
- Small (suitable for most dogs and cats 15 lbs and under)
- Large (suitable for most dogs and cats 25 lbs and under)
When in doubt, we always recommend going a size up.
MEASURE YOUR PUP’S LENGTH AND HEIGHT
If you have a measuring tape handy, you can also take their measurements to confirm it will be a good fit. Start at the front of their chest and measure the distance to their rear. For their height, measure from the top of their shoulder blade to the base of their paw.
- Small fits most dogs up to 16.5" in length and 10" in height
- Large fits most dogs up to 18.5” in length and 12" in height.
I’ve received the carrier. How do I know it is the right fit?
It is okay if the carrier is a snugger fit, as long as your pet seems comfortable and can turn around inside the bag.
Most Pups Won’t Stand Up in the Carrier
It is totally normal if your pet is not able to stand up in the carrier.
Think of the ideal size as a cozy, snuggly place for your pup or cat to curl up in and snooze. With soft-sided carriers like ours, most pups—unless they are teacup or toy size breeds—will not be able to stand up inside—and that’s okay!
Maximizing Your Pup's Space for Air Travel
Our carriers are in-cabin compliant with most major airlines.
Each carrier is designed to fit within the space under the seat in front of you, which is typically about 12” in height.
Our pet carrier is one of the largest in-cabin compliant carriers available. When traveling by plane with our Large size, we recommend removing your carrier's rear pocket insert. This way, your carrier's flexible rear frame can more easily conform to the seat requirements in front of you.
Please keep in mind that in-cabin pet policies are subject to change at any time, and we always encourage our customers to reach out to your specific airline prior to your planned travel with any concerns you may have.

The Camouflage back pack carrier was purchased over 4 years ago for my 15 pound Morkie for frequent airline travel across the country. I tried several other approved carriers and struggled with shoulder pain and neck discomfort. I am petite and had difficulty carrying the standard carriers through the aisles on my arm while attempting to keep from hitting passengers in the head. The other carriers were not as sturdy or as accommodating as the Roverlund. Carrying this bag on my back and adjusting the straps for my size allows even distribution and is more stable and comfortable. The canvas is rugged and there are bungee straps to attach your pet’s collar inside to ensure they don’t jump out if you choose to open one of the windows while you walk or sit the bag down. This bag is easy to clean and has held up over the years with no tearing or breakage. Many people see this back pack kennel in the airport and on the airplane and ask who makes it and Where they can get one.
Our chihuahua Sunny absolutely loves this carrier! He fits perfectly in it and the structure feels very secure and stable, which helps him feel safe and comfortable while traveling. The quality is beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and it’s honestly one of the cutest carriers we’ve used. We’ve already gotten so many compliments on it and are excited to continue using it for future adventures with Sunny!
My mom recently purchased the black and yellow camo carrier and carry on bundle for her new toy poodle. This is such a great bag for traveling! Although it doesn't have wheels, it fits on top of our suitcases so we can easily roll it. The leash attached inside and side pockets are really nice to have. For reference, we have a 25 lb Frenchie and he fits perfectly in here. Love the camo design as well - would highly recommend!
I haven’t travelled with my pets in the carrier yet but they love sleeping in it and hanging out in it at home, so that’s a good sign!!
I have not had a chance to use it yet, but it appears to be a very good carrier. I wish it had more opening. The only other think is I wanted the one that was black and pink. I wish your stock was more.

We have a 15 lb Cavapoo and just travelled with her on an airplane to and from vacation. The bag was perfect! She had enough head room inside to fully sit and we loved the options for opening a flap for her head to peek out. The bag fit under our airplane seat with no problem and we were able to reach in and pet her throughout the flight. So happy we purchased the bag! Will feel confident traveling with her in the bag on our next trip.

This backpack is the only one I’ve purchased that is extremely solid and roomy enough for my Biewer Terrier. He loves the side windows when we are out shopping. I haven’t used it yet for travel yet but this makes it so much easier to since it can be used as an airline carrier and a backpack. So I no longer have to carry 2 bags.
My dog likes it! I never trained her to like bags but she’s very cat-like and likes to be in small spaces. I put it on the floor when I received it and she went right in and took a nap. I had her in the bag at the airport and she likes sticking her head out from the sides. I got this bag because carrying my dog in a regular carrier on one shoulder was killing my back and shoulder. This backpack makes it much easier!
I got upgraded to business class so I didn’t have to put the bag underneath anything so I can’t say if it’d fit. The bag itself is pretty narrow when you put it down flat (less space compared to a regular carrier) but I think it helps that the side and top meshed areas open.
For reference, my dog is 11.5lbs and has semi short legs. When it’s laid flat, she curls up and when it’s upright, she sits and sticks her head out. Comfy for both owner and dog!
This bag is perfect for my 2lb Yorkie puppy!
We splurged. Thank goodness we did! She Loves her box! We fly 2 times a year and she snoozes tge whole way. The rest of year this is her “car seat”. We leave tge top unziped and buckle it into the seat. She feels so secure, hops right in on her own and actually prefers it over my lap 80% of the time. We insert a soft fluffy bed for the car seat use.
